| Information about the eclipse 是次日食資料 |
An annular solar eclipse will occur on May 10 (Hong Kong Time). This eclipse takes place within a similar range of longitudes as the total eclipse last November. On that day, the antumbra touches Earth at around 22:30 UTC (May 9) or 06:30 HKT at northwestern Australia. It travels northeast across northern Australia and reaches the Solomon Islands after 23:10 UTC (07:10 HKT), and then Tarawa at 00:15 UTC (08:15 HKT). After that the shadow never touches significant landmass again, crossing the international date line just 5° north of the equator at around 00:45 UTC (08:45 HKT). The antumbral path later turns eastwards and then east-southeastwards. The eclipse ends when the shadow leaves Earth at around 02:15 UTC (10:15 HKT) in southeastern Pacific Ocean.

- A solar eclipse always starts as partial eclipse starts or at sunrise, and always ends as partial eclipse finishes or at sunset. 日食必會於日出或初虧時開始，而於日落或復圓時結束。
