| Information about the eclipse 是次日食資料 |
A total solar eclipse will occur on November 14 (Hong Kong Time). Similar to the total eclipse in 2010, the umbral path will cross the southern Pacific Ocean for most of its duration. The only landmasses that could catch totality will be northern Australia where the eclipse will take place at sunrise. The path of totality then travels east-southeastward, sweeping across seas north of New Zealand. The umbral shadow will cross the international date line at around 21:30 UTC (November 13) or 05:30 HKT, and greatest eclipse takes place just east of the date line. There the path of totality gradually turns to the east and then east-northeast. Totality on Earth ends at around 23:50 UTC (07:50 HKT) before the umbra can reach Chile.
