(9月7-8日 Sep 7-8) 與熱帶氣旋海葵殘餘相關的低壓槽持續影響香港並帶來破紀錄雨量。黑色暴雨警告生效達 16 小時 35 分鐘，政府首次宣佈「極端情況」生效。天文台於 9 月 7 日晚上 11 時至午夜 12 時期間錄得 158.1 毫米雨量，是有記錄以來的最高時雨量。9 月 7 至 8 日期間，多區錄得超過 400 毫米雨量，港島東區及南區更超過 800 毫米。大雨為本港多處帶來廣泛破壞，如水浸、山泥傾瀉、路陷等。

A low pressure trough associated with the remnants of tropical cyclone HAIKUI persisted near Hong Kong, resulting in record-breaking rainfall. The Black Rainstorm Warning was in force for 16 hours 35 minutes. The HK government activated the "Extreme Conditions" for the first time. A rainfall of 158.1 mm was recorded at the Observatory between 11 pm September 7 and midnight September 8, the highest hourly rainfall on record. Between September 7 and 8, more than 400 mm of rain fell over many parts of the territory. The rainfall in eastern and southern Hong Kong Island even reached 800 mm. There was widespread damage as a result of the rainstorm, such as flooding, lanslides, and road collapse.

(9月1日 Sep 1) 超強颱風蘇拉橫過南海北部並趨向珠江口，十號颶風信號生效。天文台曾預計部分地區海水高度會升至接近溫黛及山竹來襲時水平，幸而最終並未發生。天文台表示，蘇拉附近的最高持續風速達每小時 230 公里，是自 1950 年以來影響南海第二強的熱帶氣旋。

Super typhoon SAOLA crossed the northern South China Sea and approached the Pearl River Estuary, necessitating the #10 Hurricane Signal. The Observatory once predicted that water levels at certain parts of Hong Kong would reach those recorded during the approaches of cyclones WANDA and MANGKHUT, but luckily this did not happen. The Observatory mentioned that SAOLA's sustained wind speeds near its centre reached 230 km/h, the second strongest cyclone to affect the South China Sea since 1950.

(10月8-9日 Oct 8-9) 強颱風小犬靠近台灣時香港天氣酷熱，10 月 4 日錄得的 34.6 度是當月的最高紀錄。小犬靠近華南時減弱速度遠較預期慢，更曾再度增強。天文台於 10 月 8 日晚上發出九號烈風或暴風風力增強信號，部分交通工具即時停止運作，大批市民滯留。10 月 9 日凌晨雨勢增強，天文台發出黑色暴雨警告，當天雨量達 369.7 毫米，打破十月份的最高日雨量紀錄。

Very hot weather affected Hong Kong while severe typhoon KOINU neared Taiwan. The maximum temperature of 34.6 degrees was the highest on record in October. KOINU weakened much slower than expected while it moved towards southern China, and at one point it even strengthened again. The Observatory issued the #9 Increasing Gale or Storm Signal in the night of October 8. Some public transport services were suspended immediately, stranding many passengers. As the rain intensified in the small hours of October 9, the Observatory issued the Black Rainstorm Warning. The daily rainfall was 369.7 mm, breaking the October record.

(2023年 Year 2023) 本港全年共錄得 10 次有感地震，是自 1979 年短週期地震監測網設立以來最多，其中於 3 月 8 日及 5 月 1 日的兩次烈度達修正麥加利烈度表中的第四度。

There were a total of 10 felt tremor in Hong Kong this year, the highest since the establishment of the short-period seismograph network in 1979. The events on March 8 and May 1 reached level IV intensity on the Modified Mercalli Scale.

(12月23日 Dec 23) 一股強烈東北季候風影響華南，天文台氣溫下降至 8.1 度，是本年最低紀錄。

A strong surge of northeast monsoon affected southern China. The temperature at the Observatory dropped to 8.1 degrees, the lowest this year.

(7月27日 Jul 27) 受超強颱風杜蘇芮的相關下沉氣流影響，天文台的氣溫上升至本年最高的 36.1 度，是有記錄以來七月份其中一個絕對最高氣溫，而當日平均氣溫 32.2 度，打破七月份最高紀錄。

Affected by the subsidence associated with super typhoon DOKSURI, the temperature at the Observatory soared to 36.1 degrees, the highest this year. It was one of the highest maximum temperature ever recorded in the month of July. The average temperature of 32.2 that day was also the highest in July on record.

(12月12日 Dec 12) 由於東北季候風較弱，加上陽光充沛，天文台氣溫上升至 28.7 度，平了 1953 年創下的 12 月高溫紀錄。

As the northeast monsoon was rather weak and there was an abundance of sunshine, the temperature at the Observatory rose to 28.7 degrees. This tied the maximum temperature record for December set in 1953.

(5月15日 May 15) 勞工處推行黃、紅、黑三級的「工作暑熱警告」，參考香港暑熱指數發出相應警告。警告生效時，僱主應按照工作體力勞動水平給予僱員適量休息時間，以減低中暑風險。

The Labour Department launched the three-tier "Heat Stress at Work Warning", colour-coded as amber, red and black. The warning was issued based on the Hong Kong Heat Index. When the warning is issued, employers should provide suitable rest periods to employees to reduce the risk of heat stroke.

(7月17日 Jul 17) 熱帶氣旋泰利橫過南海北部並增強為颱風，天文台發出本年首個八號烈風或暴風信號。泰利襲港前，其下沉氣流為華南帶來極端酷熱的天氣，本港多區氣溫上升至 36 至 38 度。

Tropical cyclone TALIM crossed the northern South China Sea and intensified into a typhoon. The Observatory issued the first #8 Gale or Storm Signal. Before TALIM's approach, its associated subsidence resulted in extremely hot weather in southern China. The temperatures in many parts of Hong Kong reached 36 to 38 degrees.

(8月 Aug) 本月天文台平均氣溫 29.7 度及平均最低氣溫 27.8 度均為有記錄以來 8 月的最高紀錄；全月共有 15 天熱夜，平了 2009 年的 8 月紀錄。由於 6 及 7 月均較正常炎熱，本港 2023 年夏季是有記錄以來最炎熱，平均氣溫為破紀錄的 29.7 度。

The mean temperature of 29.7 degrees and mean minimum temperature of 27.8 degrees at the Observatory this month are both the highest on record for August. A total of 15 "hot nights" were registered, equalling the August record set in 2009. As it was also hotter than normal in June and July, Hong Kong eperienced the hottest summer in 2023, with a record-breaking mean temperature of 29.7 degrees.

(2023年 Year 2023) 部分節氣或節日氣溫創新高，包括雨水 (2 月 19 日；26.6 度)、中秋 (9 月 29 日；33.7 度)、除夕 (12 月 31 日；25.7 度)。

Record-breaking maximum temperatures were recorded on the day of some solar terms and festivals, including "spring showers" (February 19, 26.6 degrees), mid-autumn festival (September 29, 33.7 degrees), and new year's eve (December 31, 25.7 degrees).

(5月26日 May 26) 天文台新增「極端酷熱天氣」特別提示，對應 35 度或以上氣溫為「極端酷熱」的新分類，已經或預料氣溫普遍會達此水平時便會發出。

The Observatory added a Special Weather Tips on extreme heat conditions, corresponding to the new temperature classification of "extremely hot" for 35 degrees or above. The Special Weather Tips will be issued whenever local temperatures are generally expected to reach or have reached this level.

(3月25日 Mar 25) 一道強雷雨帶隨冷鋒南下，影響華南地區，香港發出本年首個黃色暴雨警告。天文台更兩度發出特別天氣提示，預料本港在短期內可能受冰雹影響。當日下午西灣河附近有冰雹報告。

A strong rainband with thunderstorms propagated southwards together with the associated cold front and affected southern China. The first Amber Rainstorm Warning for the year was issued in Hong Kong. The Observatory twice issued special weather alerts to warn that hail would affect Hong Kong shortly. There were reports of hail in Sai Wan Ho that afternoon.

(6月13-18日 Jun 13-18) 受低壓槽持續影響，本港有大驟雨及狂風雷暴。這六天期間天文台錄得超過 300 毫米雨量。天文台於 17 日需發出紅色暴雨警告信號。當日新界部分地區有嚴重水浸報告。

A low pressure trough persisted and produced heavy showers and squally thunderstorms in Hong Kong. The total rainfall in these six days exceeded 300 mm. The Observatory issued the Red Rainstorm Warning on June 17. There were reports of serious flooding in parts of the New Territories that day.

(11月 Nov) 已運作 24 年的大帽山天氣雷達被拆卸，並將會安裝備有更先進功能和更佳效能的新雷達。

After operating for 24 years, the weather radar at Tai Mo Shan was dismantled and will be replaced by a new radar with more advanced functions and better performance.

(4月19日 Apr 19) 受低壓槽相關的強烈狂風雷暴影響，多區陣風猛烈，九龍天星碼頭達每小時約100公里。早上沙田有圍板倒塌，造成6人受傷。

As a result of strong squally thunderstorms associated with a low pressure trough, gusts were strong in many places with those at Kowloon Star Ferry Pier reaching 100 km/h. Some hoardings in Sha Tin collapsed that morning, injuring six people.

(5月31日 May 31) 天文台今天錄得最低氣溫 29.6 度及平均氣溫 31.4 度，分別是有記錄以來 5 月份的最高及其中一個最高。

A minimum temperature of 29.6 degrees and an average temperature of 31.4 degrees were recorded today. They were the highest and one of the highest recorded in May, respectively.

(4月20日 Apr 20) 本港出現一次食分只有 0.028 的日偏食，而當天多雲有雨，市民大多未能觀賞到這次日食。

A partial solar eclipse with a magnitude of only 0.028 occurred in Hong Kong. However, it was cloudy with rain on that day, and the event was not visible in Hong Kong in general.

(2023 年 Year 2023) 天文台本年未有在熱帶氣旋影響時直接發出三號強風信號。

The HK Observatory did not issue the #3 Strong Wind Signal directly during the approach of tropical cyclones this year.

(12月21-23日 Dec 21-23) 大帽山溫度於冰點以下，其中於 12 月 22 日低溫跌至 -1.6 度。

A sub-freezing temperature was recorded at Tai Mo Shan, with the minimum temperature dipping to -1.6 degrees on December 22.
